Bertie Taylor is Manager of Upstream Online Content for Hart Energy’s Digital Media Group. Previously, she was with PLS Inc. in Houston for almost three years, as senior business editor and managing editor for seven web-only newsletters, and was with Hart’s Oil and Gas Investor group from 2004 to 2007, primarily as editor of Oil and Gas Investor This Week newsletter, and as a contributing editor for Oil and Gas Investor magazine.
Her writing has been featured in national consumer magazines and select newspapers, including the Houston Chronicle. Her enthusiasm for writing and editing spans more than 15 years, beginning with her roles as a reporter for Southern Illinois University’s Daily Egyptian and non-fiction editor for the literary journal So to Speak. When she wasn’t writing she was busy teaching students to write at the high school and college levels, most recently as an adjunct instructor at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She is also the founder of Read This Ink Creative Writing Solutions, a freelance writing and editing service.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
