Hey, it's Friday! And that means we can think about Homer Simpson and talk about nuclear! One of the 13 options politicians are considering to solve the energy crisis is upping the number of nuclear power plants.
Nuclear power is one way to wean the nation off foreign dependence, since the uranium to power the plants is found mostly in the U.S. Nuclear power goes hand-in-hand with electronic dependence, and seems to make sense if the country does become more geared toward electric cars.
The downfalls of nuclear power? Need I mention Chernobyl and Three Mile Island? On top of that, a long term solution has yet to be discovered for the waste, which stays radioactive for thousands of years.
