The IR Series II: Consists Of/Includes (Barnett Shale)
To be precise, use “includes” when the list is not exhaustive. Use “consists of” or similar when the list is exhaustive.
PRECISE: The American flag consists of the colors red, white and blue.
LESS PRECISE/CAN BE MISREAD: The American flag includes the colors red, white and blue.
PRECISE: The sought-after Barnett shale production consists of natural gas.
LESS PRECISE/CAN BE MISREAD: The sought-after Barnett shale production includes natural gas.
